My name is
Scott Radin and I am the founder and owner of
The Business Broker Training Center. Since 2001,
I have trained more than 500 business brokers by
either LIVE business broker training or through
my business broker online school. In the past I
founded and developed an International business
brokering network that was featured in Trump
University’s Book Entrepreneurship 101 and
business brokers I have trained have been
featured in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and
Business Week to name a few. Many of the
business brokers I have trained now do in excess
of $1,000,000 per year in commissions. |
I not only train
business brokers – I am a business broker myself running
a lucrative business brokerage in the Western New York
market. So I do not teach theory – I teach what works
and I use myself. I have written articles in our local
newspapers and I have appeared on local television as an
industry expert..
The fact that I have
been training business brokers since 2001 serves as
testimony to the success of the processes and systems I
have in place. But I don’t stop there. I am always
improving the training subjects and materials to what is
relevant in the business brokering industry. So while
many broker training outfits train theory – I train in
the current applications of business brokering. Over the
years the broker environment has changed and evolved and
so have my broker training programs. So for this reason,
all training programs include lifetime updates to the
current broker processes that are shown to be
successful.
The success of my
programs works on three fundamental basics…
The first fundamental
basic is an ethical full disclosure approach to business
brokering. There are too many shady business brokers
practicing in greed and deception. Our programs focus on
fully disclosing everything that we can and will do
before, during and after the sale of the business. And
we present these fundamentals to both buyers and sellers
up front. And so will you.
The second fundamental
basic is my NO COLD CALLING approach that has taken the
biggest worry out of so many who thought – or were told
– that endless cold calling is the only way to succeed.
My system works on the need principle whereby buyers and
sellers are contacting you – not vice versa. And if your
clients are contacting you then it goes without saying
that they are motivated and need you – all you have to
do is guide them.
The third and final
fundamental basic is that our processes keep you in
control of the process and both buyers and sellers
appreciate it. Your clients are nervous and need their
hand held at all times so by being in control you are
mentoring them from beginning to end. So whether it is
confidentiality or valuing the business – you will be
setting the table.
By far and away the
three biggest fears of prospective business brokers are
the start up investment – experience and financial
knowledge so let me ease all three concerns.
First – the
investment. While franchises charge in excess of $10,000
with restrictions and schools and similar charge
thousands for theory with little to no support – I have
priced my training programs so everyone can become a
business broker.
The second concern of
many is experience. Back when I started training in 2001
I began telling everyone I trained that if they lost a
listing to their green experience to let me know. I am
still waiting for the first person to call me on this.
The reality is that your full disclosure approach and
materials will create need in your clients with a
mentality of what you can do for them NOT what have you
done.
The third and final
major concern is that so many think that they need
financial knowledge to be a business broker. This is the
biggest fallacy of them all. You will only need limited
financial knowledge to price a business and explain cash
flow to a buyer. But don’t worry, my training provides
all of that and more. As a matter of fact you will
surely chuckle once you realize how simple it is.
